A grand new hotel designed as a castle is coming to the Black Sea coast in Batumi.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts presented Sky Castle at a special event held in Tbilisi on June 16. Dimitris Manikis, President of the global hotel company for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, made the trip to Georgia himself. For the world's largest hotel chain, the country has become a strategic market.

Strategic importance for Wyndham

The presentation highlighted Georgia’s growing role for international hospitality groups. Manikis described the country as unique and emphasized its future development in the sector.

Sky Castle forms the fifth component of the Wyndham Grand Batumi Gonio complex. It is being developed by European Village, the Georgian-Israeli holding company that has twice appeared in Forbes Georgia’s selection of the nation’s top ten brands.

Introducing the first luxury All Inclusive

The new property will rise as a majestic castle overlooking the sea. It will deliver 430 rooms and bring Georgia’s first luxury All Inclusive offering operated by a major global hotel brand.

The Tbilisi launch drew attention from diplomatic and government circles. Guests included the Ambassador of Israel to Georgia, an advisor from the embassy of Belarus, and the chairman of the parliamentary committee on economy.

Manikis thanked the partners publicly. “Georgia is a unique country, and it will develop in the sphere of hospitality,” he said. “Thank you very much for your trust in Wyndham as your partner in this endeavor.”

Scale of investment and fiscal contribution

The project carries a total investment of 155 million dollars. Roughly 26 million dollars of that amount is expected to reach the Georgian budget in the form of taxes.

This level of commitment reflects private-sector confidence in Adjara’s long-term tourism potential and the broader Georgian hospitality market.

Distinctive design and guest experience

Located in the Gonio area south of Batumi, the castle-style building is planned as a visual landmark along the coast. Its architecture is intended to create a memorable identity for visitors and for the destination itself.

By offering a full luxury All Inclusive model under the Wyndham Grand banner, the hotel aims to attract guests who value comprehensive on-site services in an upscale setting. The 430-room scale will add meaningful capacity for both leisure travelers and groups.

Outlook for Batumi and Adjara

European Village’s decision to expand the existing Wyndham Grand portfolio with this signature property continues a pattern of investment in Georgia’s tourism assets. Association with a worldwide brand is expected to improve visibility for Batumi and Adjara among international visitors.

Local partners and observers have pointed to the project’s potential contribution to the regional economy and to the area’s reputation for quality hospitality. With presentation materials now public, the next milestones center on construction and operational preparations.

The combination of striking design, international operations, and the All Inclusive concept represents a clear step forward for higher-end accommodations on Georgia’s Black Sea shoreline.
