Money transfers to Georgia from abroad totaled USD 350.05 million in July 2026, up 3.9% year on year, or USD 13.1 million, according to figures published by the National Bank of Georgia on 17 August.
EU and United States
The European Union and the United States remained the largest sources, together accounting for 63% of inflows, or USD 220.84 million.
Transfers from EU member countries alone came to USD 153.07 million, up 2.4% year on year and 43.7% of the total.
By country, the United States led with USD 67.77 million (19.3%), followed by Italy with USD 55.93 million (15.9%), Russia with USD 42.02 million (12%), Germany with USD 31.72 million (9%), and Israel with USD 29.28 million (8.3%).
Largest rises and falls
Among reporting countries, the steepest year-on-year increase was from Tajikistan, up 82.4% to USD 1.4 million. Lebanon rose 71.3% to USD 1.36 million, and Uzbekistan 25.9% to USD 1.47 million. Inflows from Israel and Belarus increased by 21.6% and 18.8%.
The sharpest decline was from Kyrgyzstan, down 27.6% to USD 8.17 million. Slovakia fell 17.1% to USD 1.12 million, while Ireland and Poland dropped 13.7% and 11%. Transfers from Russia declined 7.1% year on year.
Outflows and GDP share
Transfers from Georgia to other countries totaled USD 39 million in July, up 4.7% from USD 37.3 million a year earlier.
Personal remittances to Georgia accounted for 11.9% of GDP, according to World Bank data for 2024.
