Georgian Post has changed how it handles international mail leaving the country. Under an updated cooperation agreement with Turkish Airlines, outbound parcels now move through the company’s own aviation terminal rather than the previous mixed handling setup.
Faster outbound processing
The postal operator says international items should clear processing sooner and leave Georgia earlier, shortening overall delivery times for recipients abroad. Georgian Post previously relied on steps that added delays in parts of the logistics chain.
More control over air transfers
By routing mail through its dedicated terminal, Georgian Post says it can oversee international dispatch directly. The company argues that tighter control should speed parcel handling and make the end-to-end process more efficient.
Stability as well as speed
Officials say the new arrangement is not only about faster transit. Georgian Post also expects stronger oversight of international carriage and simpler coordination with airlines, which it says should make postal services abroad more stable and reliable for senders.
