Georgian Airways will start regular flights between Tbilisi and Batumi on 25 June, airport operator TAV Georgia has announced.
The national carrier plans to serve the domestic link through the summer navigation season with four weekly departures on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flights will use Boeing 737 aircraft, with a scheduled block time of about 45 minutes in the air.

TAV Georgia said the timetable is geared toward travellers who want a short break on the coast. Departures from Tbilisi are set for 09:00; return flights from Batumi leave at 19:30.
One-way fares published in initial announcements range from 343 to 419 lari (roughly $131–$158 at current exchange rates). Prices can shift with demand and booking date; baggage rules and seat selection should be confirmed on Georgian Airways' sales channels before purchase.
The morning outbound and evening inbound pattern allows a same-day or overnight weekend: passengers can reach Batumi by late morning and return to the capital after a full day on the beach or in the city.
Why the route matters
Georgia's capital and its main seaside resort are linked by road and rail, but the journey by car or train typically takes several hours depending on traffic and stops. A scheduled air shuttle appeals to business travellers, families with limited time and visitors who prefer to avoid the winding mountain sections on the main highway.
Batumi's summer season draws domestic tourists as well as foreign residents based in Tbilisi. Adjara's beaches, restaurants and events fill hotels from June onward; faster access from the capital can support last-minute trips when road congestion peaks on holiday weekends.
Georgian Airways is the country's legacy flag carrier and operates a mix of domestic and international services from Tbilisi and other airports. Adding a denser Batumi frequency in summer places it in competition with ground transport rather than with low-cost European routes from Kutaisi.

Travellers should verify terminal assignments at Tbilisi and Batumi airports, as domestic check-in areas can differ from international halls. Arrival times for the 09:00 departure and security queues at peak season should be built into plans.
Tickets are expected to go on sale through the airline and TAV Georgia's information channels. Weather or operational reasons can occasionally affect small fleets on domestic legs; passengers with tight connections in Tbilisi should leave buffer time on return travel.
