The Georgian government has extended state-funded medical assistance for Ukrainian citizens staying in the country. Under a decision signed by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, free healthcare coverage will now remain available until October 1, 2026.
The program applies to Ukrainian nationals who arrived in Georgia between February 1, 2022, and October 1, 2026, due to military action in Ukraine and have continuously resided in the country.
Covered Healthcare Services
According to the official decree, eligible citizens have access to a wide range of essential medical procedures and specialized treatments.
The covered list includes routine vaccinations, maternal and child healthcare—such as prenatal monitoring and newborn screening—mental health services, and treatment for tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, and rare diseases, alongside dialysis care and required pharmaceuticals.
Emergency and Specialized Referral Care
The program also guarantees emergency medical referral services, ensuring immediate hospital care when urgent treatment is required.
Emergency coverage extends to hospital admissions, childbirth, and urgent immunizations. Ukrainian citizens requiring ongoing medical care or specialized therapy will continue receiving state support under the prolonged program guidelines.
