Moldovan airline Flyone has started direct flights between Chisinau and Batumi, according to TAV Georgia, the operator of Tbilisi and Batumi international airports.
First arrival
Batumi International Airport has already handled the inaugural service from the Moldovan capital. The new link adds a direct air connection between Georgia's Black Sea coast and Moldova without a transfer through another hub.
Summer schedule
For the summer navigation season, Flyone plans three weekly round-trip services on the Chisinau–Batumi–Chisinau route.
At the initial stage, flights operate on Mondays and Thursdays. From 14 July, a Wednesday service will join the timetable, bringing the route to its full three-times-weekly frequency.
What it means for travelers
The route is aimed at holiday and business traffic between Moldova and Adjara during the peak summer period. Batumi remains a major entry point for visitors to Georgia's southwestern coast, and the new flights offer Moldovan travelers a shorter path to the city than multi-leg itineraries via other cities.
TAV Georgia manages both Batumi and Tbilisi airports under long-term concession agreements. Additional capacity on regional routes supports the airport operator's goal of expanding international connectivity outside the capital.
