Spanish hospitality company Barceló Hotel Group has signed an agreement with Georgia's ELT Group to build a hotel under the Occidental Hotels & Resorts brand within the ELT Quarter complex in Batumi.
The partnership
Under the deal, the international chain will operate a new property inside ELT Group's mixed-use quarter on the Black Sea coast. The project adds a branded hotel component to one of Batumi's larger private developments.
What the developers highlight
ELT Group and Barceló say the hotel will focus on three priorities:
- Applying European-quality standards to Batumi's hospitality infrastructure
- European management and service practices
- Premium guest service
Context for Batumi
Batumi has seen steady growth in branded hotel and residential projects aimed at international visitors. A Spanish operator entering the ELT Quarter would extend the city's portfolio of foreign-managed hospitality assets alongside existing local and regional developments.
Financial terms, opening dates, and room counts were not disclosed in the initial announcement.
