This policy covers the Georgia Times mobile app. The Georgia Times website has its own privacy terms. A copy of this policy is included in the app so you can read it offline.
The short version
Georgia Times is a news reader for stories published on georgiatimes.ge.
- No account, no sign-up, no profile
- No ads
- No analytics or tracking
- Nothing sold or shared with data brokers
Your settings, bookmarks, and saved stories live on your phone. Reading an article works the same way as opening the website in a browser.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact details. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera. We do not use advertising IDs, and we do not build a profile of what you read.
There is no sign-in, so there is nothing for us to attach to you.
What stays on your phone
The app remembers a few things locally so it is fast and works offline:

None of this is sent to us. To remove it, clear the app's storage in your phone's Settings, or uninstall the app.
What the app connects to
The app needs an internet connection to load the news. As with any website you visit, the servers it contacts can see your IP address and similar basic connection details in their normal logs.

| Google Fonts (some phones) | Downloads the app's fonts if your phone does not already have them, under Google's privacy policy. Otherwise the app uses fonts already on the device. |
| Links you tap | Open in your browser, which has its own terms, along with the site you land on. |
The app does not ask for location, contacts, or any other sensitive permission.
Alerts
Settings includes a News alerts option, but alerts are not switched on yet and nothing is collected for them today.
A future update may alert you when a new featured story is published — that kind of alert only, never advertising. If that needs a delivery token from your phone, it will be used only to send those alerts. We will update this policy before alerts go live, and you can turn them off in Settings at any time.
Phone backups
If you use your phone's own backup service, your Georgia Times settings and saved stories may be included in it. That backup is run by your phone maker or account provider, not by us.
Children
Georgia Times is a general-audience news app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If the app's behaviour changes, we will update this policy and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
